AWAKENING THOUGHTS – Abundant Life

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). (John 10:10 AMP)

There are only two ways to live your life: You can pursue this world for satisfaction, or you can seek after God to satisfy. The world, under the dominion of Satan, will rob, kill, and destroy your soul. Jesus offers life and that more abundantly.

Recognizing the trick of Satan, to encourage you to comprise your life solely, on things which are seen should never be an option. Never give away your abundant life to someone or something that does not deserve it!

Pray this prayer:

However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him (1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV)

AWAKENING THOUGHTS – How to Endure Temptations

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV)

It’s comforting to know no matter the age, when temptations come El Roi, “God of Seeing” (Genesis 16:13) has provided an escape route.

Just as Hagar realized after seeing God in a theophany (Genesis 16:1-14) We must also realize El Roi sees us in our distress, and testify that he is a God who lives and sees all. So when temptations come, he will lead us to victory when we follow the escape route he set before us.

Pray this Prayer:

“Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” (Hebrews 2:18 NIV)

AWAKENING THOUGHTS – Preparedness

The word of God states, “Therefore, you must also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Matthew 24:44 ESV).

Helping our youths understand the importance of preparedness may be the greatest gift we can offer them. Just as we must be prepared for the coming of Christ, we must also prepare for things in this life. Missed opportunities occur when we are not prepared.

We ought to be intentional daily as liken to the ant; so when opportunities come we are prepared. If we wait until opportunity comes it is too late to prepare. So start today preparing for your harvest!

Pray this prayer:

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.”(Proverbs 6:6-8 NIV)

AWAKENING THOUGHTS – Power of the Tongue

As I come in contact with youths on a daily basis, I’ve discovered some of them are without hope because of something that has been spoken. Scripture states, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).

As we encounter our youths today, let us remember the words that we speak will either cause death or life. Let us seek opportunities to speak only words that build up, and give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:29)

Pray this prayer:

“Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips!” (Psalms 141:3 NIV) Amen.
